Finding the Right Acne Treatment Product

If you’ve got acne you know just how difficult it is to conceal a pimple. It’s a daily struggle, washing your face morning and night only to wake up the following morning and yup, acne still there. How can you stop this vicious cycle? You have to take action, and washing your face isn’t enough you have to choose the right acne treatment product for your situation.

Selecting the right acne treatment for you isn’t as easy as going to your local department store. Why? well different treatments contain different active ingredients and are formulated to work just a little bit differently. So what works for someone else might not work for you. Instead you must decide what your expectations are of an acne treatment product before you spend a dime.

Clearing Breakouts

To clear up a current breakout find an acne treatment that’s main ingredient is Benzoyl Peroxide. You can find treatments that contain 2.5%, 5% and 10% concentrations of Benzoyl. This ingredient will penetrate the pimple and kill the acne bacteria making it the perfect treatment to clear breakouts, how ever it does not stop breakouts from coming back.

Don’t Let another Breakout Happen

TO stop further breakouts from happening down the road you want to find a treatment that uses Salicylic acid. This acid helps keep your follicles clear of dead skin cells and keeps your pores clear. This ensures that future acne bacteria won’t build up and cause another breakout. There are several forms of treatments using Salicylic acid and they offer concentrations between 0.5% and 2%.

Go Natural with your Acne Treatment Product

For an all natural option to some of the chemical based acne treatments give Tea Tree oil a try. More and more products contain Tea tree oil as well as Benzoyl peroxide or Salicylic acid. Why? Because Tea Tree is a natural anti bacterial that will naturally fight acne bacteria in pimples.

Do What the Package Says

What ever product you decide to use you must ensure you do one thing. Give the product time to do it’s job. If it’s a Benzoyl or Tea Tree oil product you will usually see some results in 1-2 days, how ever a Salicylic acid product can take weeks or even a few months to produce visible results.

It’s easy to only focus on what we can see on our face when using acne treatments, but sometimes what is happening below the surface is just as important we just cannot see it. It’s important that you give any new acne treatment at least 2 months to work before you try something else, because if you keep jumping from product to product you may never achieve the clear and clean skin you want.

Trying to find the right acne treatment for me…?
OK, so I have recently decided that I am going to find a product that works for my skin to clear up my acne. I have many options to choose from and would like to know what worked for you. I am thinking about using Skin ID but I’m still not completely convinced that’s what I want. I have used Biore for a while and that didn’t really work. I have also used St. Ives, Clinique, Clean & Clear, and other products from Neutrogena. So I would like to know… What worked for you? What do you recommend? I would love to know.

    Thanks! =)

I would go with Proactive. It can get kind of expensive if you have to use it for a while, but the results are spectacular.

i think its all about regime. if you find something that has steps and and different products, i personally know that it works best. besides proactive comes with a whole lot for only 20-30 bucks.. all the informercials have been super cheap lately. just follow the steps, make sure you dont sleep with any makeup on at night, stay hydrated, and try to be stress free. an imbalance in either of the few just stated can also trigger breakouts. remember regime regime regime. just get into the habit of cleansing and moisturizing in the morning and at night.

I have VERY oily skin and have acne problem since I was a teenager. I’ve been using Neutrogena’s facial bar for acne-prone skin and it has worked really well for me so far. It gets my skin very dry sometimes but it’s nothing I can’t control with an oil-free moisturizer.

all these products don’t really work as expected….i personally depend on fruit extracts and other home remedies… for acne…you could apply ripe tomato or cucumber pulp on acne pimples and keep upto 1 hour, then wash. see if this works… it worked wonders for me.. :D

use aspirin face mask.Aspirin is remarkable for your skin. Its anti-inflammatory properties, capability of sloughing off dead skin cells thus preventing the clogging of pores makes it a terrific product in the treatment of acne and other skin inflammations.

    1) Make facial wash by using lemon and rose water. Mix them together and apply the liquid on your face. Leave it for a few minutes and then wash off by using cotton pad soaked in warm water.
    2) Use egg whites to treat your acne; apply the egg whites on your face and leave for 10 -15 minutes. Then wash your face with cold water.
    3) Mix oatmeal and natural yogurt and apply on your face for a few minutes. When you feel the mixture dries on your face, wash it with warm water.
    4) Take a cotton pad and dip it in rose water, clean your face with the rose water a few times a day to get better looking skin.
    5) Take one lemon and squeeze its juice. Apply the lemon juice on the acne pimples and leave for 20 minutes. Then wash your face with lukewarm water. If your skin stings from the lemon, wash your face before the 20 minutes are over. (This is an astringent and may be too drying for your skin)
    6) Apply garlic cloth on the acne to make it heal faster.
